ABOUT THOMAS

Leadership for our Community

Thomas Kutz grew up in the Mechanicsburg area, where six generations of his family have called home. It is here in our community where he learned from his parents and grandparents the values of hard work, faith, freedom, and family. Those are the values Thomas has carried with him throughout his life - whether it be as a graduate of Cedar Cliff High School or later in life as a practicing attorney.

After graduating from Grove City College, Thomas pursued his passion for public service in Congress, where he worked as a staff member for the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee during the largest tax cut in American history. While pursuing his law degree at Widener Commonwealth Law School, Thomas worked hard in various roles to put himself through school, including with the Pennsylvania Senate Office of General Counsel, the Dauphin County District Attorney’s office, and as the Policy Director for Senator Mike Regan. Thomas also previously served on the Pennsylvania Election Law Advisory Board and as a Lower Allen Township Commissioner. Thomas and his wife Allie live in Mechanicsburg with their two dogs, Camden and Poppy.

Thomas was taught early in life that family comes first. That is what drives him in his own life, and it is what drives him as a public servant as well.  As State Representative, Thomas focuses on conservative principles that will make Pennsylvania a better place for families: good jobs, safe communities, strong schools, a thriving economy, strong natural resources, and more. In Harrisburg and at home, Thomas is a leader in driving policies focused on making Pennsylvania a place where families and businesses can thrive without government interference and red tape. Raised in a family of small business owners, teachers, and blue collar workers, Thomas is passionate about preserving our values and supporting job creators so that Cumberland County and our Commonwealth are a place future generations will be proud to plant their roots.

Thomas was elected State Representative in November 2022 for a two-year term, serving the 87th legislative district in the heart of Cumberland County. The 87th District includes Upper Allen Township, Silver Spring Township, Monroe Township, Mt. Holly Springs Borough, South Middleton Township (Precincts 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9), and Lower Allen Township (Precinct 2).
