LOWER ALLEN, PA--Former Congressional staffer and Lower Allen native Thomas Kutz announced his bid for Lower Allen Township Commissioner today. Kutz, a former staffer for the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee and U.S. Representative Scott Perry (R-PA), worked as a legislative staffer before serving as the Policy Director for U.S. Senate candidate John Kingston. Kutz announced his candidacy in a video posted online and on the campaign's social media pages.
"I'm excited to continue working to find solutions to the issues that affect our community every day. We have great opportunities in our township, and together we can shape a brighter future for generations to come," Kutz said in a statement.
In 2017, Kutz worked for the Ways and Means Committee as the Committee considered major tax reform legislation which became law later that year. As a legislative staffer for Representative Perry, Kutz handled a legislative portfolio and spoke daily with constitutions about a variety of issues affecting local communities. Kutz managed a national issue portfolio as Policy Director for Kingston.
"Our community needs a new voice and a leader who will produce results. I'm proud of our work in Congress to pass the largest tax cut in American history, and I'll work to make Lower Allen a more prosperous place for working families and small businesses."
A third-generation Lower Allen Township resident, Kutz has been active in the local community, has led volunteer projects, and has been involved with several non-profit organizations. Kutz is running to improve public safety programs, rein in taxes and spending, and increase transparency in local government proceedings.
